House Of Baden  Biography

My music is greatly influenced by the various places I ve lived !
As a teenager I moved to LA where I was bathed in the grunge and glam rock scene which left a strong musical impression, then I moved to the East village in NY and it’s very different music scene! Later I landed in London where I started djing vinyl and discovered amazing uk post-punk and garage and , by spinning, started, to get more insights on rhythm and how to make a language out of it. I realised, my head was filled with music! I needed to get it out!
I started to play around on garage band . I noticed I had a knack for arrangements. I was just not able to play instruments back then. But, I was able in my mind to create finished songs! I would hear all the details, on how I wanted the different instruments to sound like . All the little odd brakes and drives !
I noticed that shape and forms would evoke melodies in my head . I found out later this is a condition called sound synesthesia where let’s say my eyes pick up sound by looking at things specially shape and forms!
Not being happy, using pre made guitar loops, I decided to ask a friend of mine to work with me . We got on real well musically and on a human level and so I was able to orchestrate and reproduce what I was hearing in my head. Most of my upcoming album was created like that in my home studio in an old factory in the outskirts of Paris. With weeks and weeks of struggling to get the right riffs and sounds out of my friend . I would tap my knees to explain drums and air drum for the high hats! Would explain sounds, as the weirdest imagery, like a broken clock that still works, or digital numbers going backwards under water…for keyboards, spaghetti western guitar and so on . I guess that makes my songs stand out in their structures from traditional songs.
Since, I’ ve learned to play the guitar and some bass and keyboards and started composing in a more traditional way but I still try to keep that original way going!

Have you always been interested in music? What is your story and how did you start making music?
My love for music started as a 4 year old when I fell in love with Elvis and started to impersonate him in front of my folks . Also as a kid I was part of a choral back in my home country and we used to do international tours on what you might call a kiddo tour bus . It always made me very happy to sing and I felt like a mini rockstar !

What are you working on now? Any future releases we can look forward to?
I m working on finishing my upcoming album right now . It includes remastering and revisiting songs written in 2008 , but also with a few new add ons ! My second single « Thief of hearts ´ is coming out very soon on streaming platforms.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry?
To share my music as much as possible and to keep the freedom of my creations

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
Well I have to admit to be pleasantly surprised by the buzz happening since I released my single « Spank Me » . But it took me years to release my music as I felt that my music wasn’t understood for what it was back when I wrote it !
I guess maybe because It was a time when music was all about over -production !

How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in your head and then write the other music for it or what’s Your typical
songwriting process?

As I explained in my bio I have this condition called sound synesthesia., where by looking at shapes and forms I hear music. But sometimes lyrics will come to me first and then I ll build a melody around them . Other times my initial lyrics can also create the musical melody and then I ll change the melody of the lyrics around. And sometimes I just classically write music with my acoustic guitar

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
The internet has both good and bad sides. On one hand it’s great that you re able to get your music so easily out there , and on the other hand the fact that everyone can do it so easily, there ends up being a lot of rubbish out there !
