Donald Newton has a very important biography that includes him working special consultancies for four presidents and nine-governors with the background as a nuclear engineer, and a member of the 3 mile island, recovery team, a teacher for public school systems, colleges and universities and business. Donald Newton is the founder of the coastal entrepreneurial council now merged with the CED the council for entrepreneurial development. It was an entertainment entrepreneurial Council involving film and music. Located in Wilmington, working with screen. Jams, Frank Capra, Junior, Dennis, Hopper, Bill Arnold, and the list goes on, and on in developing a money machine for entertainment. With a long history of music that goes all the way back to Windon Newton was a child in North Carolina. He grew up in a hub of Bluegrass and country. with a large family on both sides, who are musicians Donald Newton is also the cousin of Wayne Newton. And on the other side of the family, we have some of the most famous musicians that have ever been seen in the business. As a songwriter. I’ve been writing music since 1970. and after leaving the nuclear work, formed a band of some of the best musicians in the country that he ran into as he was service in nuclear reactors. One is the music Director, George Wise that is still with us today. Our relationship goes back to 1979. And our producer is Blake Scott, the last known producer of Wolfman Jack. we are North Carolina group of people, musicians, songwriters, and film directors. Donald Newton has written musics that are on seven albums that can be heard worldwide on 150 platforms. We’re presently writing two more albums now. This is a short version of my bio.
Have you always been interested in music? What is your story and how did you start making music?
In the heart of North Carolina’s vibrant countryside, my musical journey began at the tender age of five, awakening to my mother’s hymns that resonated through our family’s 1000-acre estate and chain of grocery stores. Wayne Newton, my great uncle Warren’s nephew, boasted kinship with us, a fact my grandfather proudly proclaimed. Despite my initial embarrassment over Wayne’s voice, his undeniable success as the world’s highest-paid entertainer sparked my fascination with music.
Surrounded by a musical lineage on my mother’s Pruitt side, our family hub echoed with the sounds of legends like Charlie Poole, Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, and Earl Scruggs. Christmas Eve at Colmor’s house became a symphony of banjos, fiddles, dobros, guitars, bass, piano, and more, creating bluegrass magic like no other.
Amidst this musical tapestry, I secretly taught myself guitar while my family focused on banjos, dobros, and fiddles. My hidden talent emerged when a band I joined in Lynchburg, Virginia, performed an original song about Vietnam on the Jerry Lewis telethon, surprising my family and revealing my musical prowess.
Transitioning from nuclear work, I encountered George Wise and a band that seemed to follow me during my travels. We initially named ourselves Civil War, reflecting our mix of southern and northern influences. Evolving into Brother the Brother, we embarked on thrilling tours before personal reasons led George and me to part ways.
Undeterred, I continued crafting music, collaborating with Jordan since 1979. Our journey expanded with Blake Scott after Wolfman Jack’s passing, creating a musical legacy that continues to captivate and amaze. From porch gatherings to nationwide tours, my life unfolds as a dramatic, exciting, and thrilling musical odyssey.
What are you working on now? Any future releases we can look forward to?

Now, with the nest emptied and the resolute backing of my kin, my golden years have transmuted into an expansive canvas for the realization of the musical opus I held dear.

Also, there needs to be a category in the Grammys, or in country music, or any of these ward programs for them to have an independent artist section where they were, they patronize artist who won’t go along with the Rubiks cube of corruption in the music industry. Also entrepreneurial, councils and boards should be created for the entertainment industry alone in film and music. I created one in Wilmington North Carolina in the 90s called the coastal entrepreneurial Council. We found money for independent artist in filming music. That’s what should be happening.there needs to be a new industry created the patronize the art and the artist. Not the billionaires. That’s the problem. Get the billionaires out of music.
